Software as a Service (SaaS)
SaaS is where a business application, such as Microsoft Exchange, is delivered to each user in the business on a flat fee per month basis and without the need to purchase an Exchange license upfront or maintain an Exchange server in-house. The result?
Given the availability and cost of bandwidth in Australia, we will often recommend hybrid cloud solutions – where some of your business applications are provided as SaaS and others may be located within on-site servers. Enjoying the benefits of cloud computing is achieved whilst simultaneously providing peace of mind for business continuity.
Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
IaaS is where you rent capacity and processing power from virtual servers located within a data centre. Depending on your needs, you can buy a regular amount of server performance and server capacity or you can rent just as much as you need and pay by the hour, depending on the amount of performance and capacity used.
You no longer need to manage and plan the capital expenditure budget of your future server purchases – all costs are a recurring operating expenditure. This provides increased agility in your ability to cope with changes in server demands, increased flexibility to increase storage and computing capacity at short notice, increased security options to ensure business continuity and increased ability to reshape server costs if you need to cut your budget.
